The Master of IT (M.IT) is a program for creative students who are passionate about cutting edge technology and its applications in solving real world problems across all areas of business, government, health and society. The program teaches the fundamental adaptable technical skills that are applicable across a range of IT platforms, allowing our graduates to evolve with and adapt to the swift pace of technology.

M.IT caters equally to those with a limited IT background looking for in-depth technical and theoretical education and those with strong experience in the domain. 

The M.IT is available in two specializations focused on areas of Management Information System and Network Security.

A.    General Information regarding the Master's by Coursework  

                       i.        Entry Requirements:

Master of Information Technology (M.IT)

A candidate admitted into M.IT by coursework shall normally possess any of the following qualifications and illustrate that she/he is qualified to undertake postgraduate work:

a.   A Bachelor's Degree of Computing or in the area of science and technology or related to computing, from Multimedia University or institutions recognized by Senate

      ~with minimum CGPA of 2.75 OR

      ~below 2.75 but above 2.50, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment process   (written assessment and face-to-face interview) OR

      ~CGPA less than 2.50, with a minimum of 5 years working experience in a relevant field may be accepted

d.   For candidates without Computing Degree, candidates are required to take and pass the bridging modules in Computing as determined by the University.

                     ii.        English Requirements:

In addition to the academic requirements, an applicant is also required to possess one of the following:

  a minimum overall TOEFL Score of 550 (paper based)or 80 (internet based); or

  a minimum IELTS overall band score of 6.0; or

  a credit in 1119 English Examination; or

  a minimum score of 134 in Multimedia University's English Language Proficiency Test; or

  a minimum MUET overall band score of 4; or

  other qualification which is of equivalent level as decided by the Senate of the University.

All applicants MUST MEET the required English Language requirement before being admitted to the programme of study.

                    iii.        Types of Candidature:

Master's -

Full-time: minimum 1 year

B.    How to Apply?

Basically, the application process into our postgraduate programmes is very simple, as it requires applicant to:

a.     Fill in an application form;

b.     Attach transcripts and mark sheets, and degree certificates
You are to attach any previous degree completed/formal transcripts and mark sheets of your academic record, providing full details of the degrees, classes, grades you have obtained and the units you have taken, either in local or foreign universities. Preferably the documents are to be in English
